Depression

Feeling low is normal. We are meant to feel all emotions, happy and sad. However, if you find that the low days are getting more frequent and that you struggle to shift your low mood, then you might be struggling with symptoms of depression.

What does depression feel like?

  • low motivation in doing things

  • not getting pleasure in things you used to enjoy

  • low energy and feeling lethargic

  • loss of appetite or overeating

  • feeling like you're failing or letting yourself or others down

  • loss of interest and feeling of hopelessness

  • beating yourself up for things that you have or haven't done

  • leaving you feel like you're never good enough

What does the treatment entail?

Therapy can help you find your motivation to do things again and find joy. It can help you reframe negative thoughts about yourself, others or the world and find a way to be content with life.

Depression, as any other condition, is experienced on a scale of mild to severe. Therefore, the treatment also needs to be adjusted to the severity of the problem for you. This is something that we can review on our assessment together and create a plan that meets your needs. For some people this might look like 6 to 8 sessions of therapy, for others is can go up to 20. This is something that we look at together based on your needs.
